The Hillier Kids

My Pa, John, scanned in a CD of photos from the old family photo albums. So I have been getting nostlgic this evening looking through them. This picture shows baby Joe in the middle of Danny, Georgie and Charlie with me on the edge of the picture.
When I get time I'll put the rest online
windy day
Submitted by ruben on Wed, 2008-02-13 16:49.My Ma and Pa are over visiting, all the way from the UK. They came round this morning we eventually ended up having an afternoon with the boys on Coffs, I resisted he urge to kill Emrys when he whinged for a toy sword, a spider man suit, a rubber chicken, donuts and lollies. That was the end of the day - the earlier part was good though.
We went to Coffs Jetty and surfed, Emrys tired himself out by going way out of his depth and surfing in. We ate fish and chips followed by a couple of mangoes.
Friday...Friday
Submitted by ruben on Fri, 2008-02-01 07:49.Friday is going to be a busy day. After work I am going to take the kids seven hours north - in a secondhand car Jay bought yesterday. I'd like to get to Buderim before midnight because I'm in a race at 6:30 Saturday.
I will try and get some videos and photos to post here or over on coffsoutriggers.com
--------- time passes....
OK so you may have realised I did not get any pictures. It was very rainy day. My team did win a silver medal though! It was a great day I really enjoyed myself. The kids had lots of fun staying with Caralyn, Pete, Evan and Katy. Like a doofus I left our washkit behind when we went
reminder to self - will have to pay Pete and Caralyn back for being so lovely as to post our stuff back down to us!
Outriggers

Rainy Sawtell

It has been bucketing down all day.
Evan and Emmy have been having mud fights in the rain and scooting round the yard on an old surfboard. A very wet summer, I feel sorry for the poor visitors coming for a break. The surf on Murray's Beach is insane , all the Bureau's and Departments are sending out warnings to stay away. At least I'm not in Queensland, "Residents have been urged to start stocking their cupboards and prepare their houses by ensuring outdoor items are secured" . I just found an email for me to go down the beach to help move the Outrigger Canoes to safety. I'm 6 hours too late, so hopefully someone turned up.
Jay and I braved the bumper to bumper post Christmas traffic and driving rain to go into town this morning. We came back with an extra car, just to add to the mix. Our fabulously ugly old Mitsubishi Povvo-wagon has finally had the dick (as we say in these parts). So we have replaced it with a neat yet boring little Daihatsu Charade.
Last day

Just found this piccy of uncle Blottom and little Eve. All together now, "aaah ain't they cute"
I'm on my last day of work at the Uni for 2007, as you can see there is plenty of work.... If anyone feels like visiting us over Christmas we will be at Park Beach in a tent. All the kids will be going rank in the pool or beach whilst all us adults eat mangoes and prawns. Mmmm... a traditional chrissy.
Elfed - this years Chrissy thing

Fabulous, Dan sent me a couple of them e-christmas cards. I liked the all singing and dancing ones :)
The other one left me puzzled as there did not seem to be a filthy punchline. I was waiting for Chudleigh and the Snow dog to start rooting. Odd.

My family and other animals
Submitted by ruben on Thu, 2007-12-13 19:53.Evan, Emmy and I have just intoduced Cheri to "My Family and Other Animals", the BBC adaptation of Gerald Durrell's autobiographical account of his childhood in Corfu just before the second world war.
If you are in the UK, the BBC may repeat it or you could just get it via bittorrent, Google spits out a few copies .
I love the stories and characters in the tv show, and will now have to fight Cheri to reread the book .
Nissyros looks more inviting by the minute.....
